Circle trust model

Sponsors control access. Members get a private room for support requests, Susu, Funds, and updates.

Best first use

Start with a small trusted group, then introduce Susu before larger support activity.

Safety tip

Only approve people who fit the Circle purpose and can be trusted with private activity.

Overview

A Circle is a private community where a trusted group can request support, give support, run Susu cycles, create Funds, and build reputation together outside the wider public marketplace.

Think of it as a smaller trust room. The Sponsor controls access, the group sets the culture, and members use the room for support activity that makes sense inside that community.

Roles

Role Who What they can do
Sponsor The person who created the Circle Approve/reject requests, manage members, promote Elders, edit settings, moderate posts, and lead the Circle.
Elder Trusted member promoted by Sponsor Help manage Circle activity and support the Sponsor, depending on the current feature rules.
Member Approved Circle participant Post requests, comment, react, give support, join Susu cycles, and participate in Funds.

Joining a Circle

1

Browse or open an invite

Find a public Circle or use a direct invite link.

2

Review the purpose

Make sure the Circle matches your relationship, community, or goal.

3

Request to join

Send a request and include context if the Circle asks for it.

4

Wait for approval

The Sponsor reviews and approves or rejects the request.

Creating a Circle

Creating a Circle gives you moderation responsibility. Use a clear name, purpose, and member expectation so the room does not become noisy or unsafe.

Sponsor responsibility: Only create a Circle if you are ready to review requests, keep the room focused, and remove activity that breaks trust.

🧭

Room culture

Set expectations around posts, support, Susu, Funds, and respectful comments.

The Circle Room

The Circle Room is the private activity feed for the Circle. Members use it to share support requests, updates, comments, reactions, Susu activity, and Funds.

Posts

Members can share requests or updates inside the Circle.

Comments

Members can ask questions, add context, and keep the request transparent.

Reactions

Lightweight signals help the room understand interest, questions, and willingness to support.

Private context

Circle content is meant for the Circle, not the full public marketplace.

Posting Requests

A good Circle request should still include amount, purpose, timeline, and return plan. Familiarity helps, but clear context still matters.

Tip: Treat a Circle request like a smaller Community+ post β€” clear, specific, and easy to evaluate.

Giving Support in a Circle

Members can give support to people inside the Circle according to the available support offer flow. Terms should still be reviewed carefully before acceptance.

Circle trust is not a guarantee. Use the member’s profile context, trust score, history, and current obligations before giving support.

Susu in Circles

Susu works best inside trusted groups. A Circle can be used to organize members, keep communication clear, and make contribution expectations visible.

Funds in Circles

A Fund can be shared with a Circle when the goal is better suited for multiple backers. Circle members can review the purpose, progress, and support options with more social context.

Managing Members

Sponsors should keep membership intentional. Approve people who fit the Circle and remove people who damage trust, spam the room, or misuse private context.

Action Use when
Approve The person fits the Circle purpose and can be trusted inside the room.
Reject The request lacks context or does not fit the Circle.
Promote A trusted member can help maintain quality and guide activity.
Remove A member breaks trust, misuses the room, or no longer fits the Circle purpose.

Privacy & Safety

Circles are designed for trusted context, but they still require good judgment. Do not share sensitive personal information just because the room is private.

Safety rule: Keep sensitive identity details, passwords, BVN/NIN, and private documents out of posts and comments.
